Thatch
Thatch is a material that is mainly used for roofing a structure. Thatch is also used for fences and in granaries.
The majority of homestaeds had either gathered or purchased bundles of thatch. The thatch was either stored on the roof or near by.
Through the interview process it was discovered that thatch is difficult and expensive to obtain. If thatch is not localy available.. it has to be purchased and transported... either by truck.. bike or by carrying it.

Thatching is done right before the rains start, which is the end of October. The research was conducted between August and September
